We’re delighted to be going to this year’s Rutland BirdFair, seeing familiar friendly faces and meeting new people. It’s a great opportunity for you, the nature enthusiast, to talk to the Páramo team direct – and for us to get feedback from you about what you would like to see in the range. The Páramo team will be on hand and happy to guide you through our range, whether you’re looking to replace that well-worn waterproof jacket, kitting yourself out for that once in a lifetime trip or just after some advice on keeping comfortable outdoors!
We’ll have a selection of clothing with you in mind, to keep you warm and dry when you want to be, and to keep you cool and protected in hot climates. Try on the Andy Rouse range, ideal for all wildlife watchers and photographers, where each item purchased directly helps conservation, humanitarian and research projects around the world. We’ll also have information on the three beneficiaries from the Aspira Fund so far.
Our Pájaro waterproof jackets will, of course, be there, specially designed for those with an active country lifestyle. They have pockets aplenty and the renowned Páramo hood, which has a wired peak, is fully adjustable and moves as you do to provide the maximum field of vision. We’ll also have a variety of high performance reversible baselayers, and our ultra cool and protective Trek & Travel range, which offers an SPF of 50+, deters biting insects and secret, secure pocketing for travel documents. Plus you can be transported to Africa by enjoying a few photos from our recent Namibia photoshoot at Erongo Wilderness Lodge (and enter our competition to win a holiday for two in Namibia)!
A growing number of wildlife professionals choose to wear Páramo:
“My Páramo clothing survives the rough nature of my work as I tend to crawl around a lot with little regard for what I’m wearing – I just expect it to do exactly what it says on the label and deal with it. I wouldn’t stand for anything less. Páramo does exactly that and much more besides; it is hard-wearing, practical clothing and I wouldn’t trust anything else.”
Andy Rouse, Wildlife photographer
“My work takes me literally all over the world where I experience diverse conditions, from the depths of a humid jungle in the Amazon to the extremes of Antarctica. The right clothing, obviously, adds enormously to the success of a trip. I was, therefore, delighted to discover Páramo, which is a one-stop shop for all my outdoor garments.”
Mark Carwardine, Wildlife photographer, broadcaster & zoologist
“Very often the most interesting animal behaviour happens when conditions are at their worst – filming on the Farne Islands for Autumnwatch was a case in point. All sorts of technical things went wrong, as you’d expect in such weather but even spending five or six hours at once crouched on the beach in the storms, I was never once cold or wet.”
John Aitchison, Wildlife cameraman
We’ll also have a selection of Nikwax products too – with some sachets of BaseWash and the New Travel Solutions SkitoStop products to give away if you are one of the lucky ones. So come and find out more at first hand - we look forward to seeing you there!
